~ RUSSIA TO SELL A 6% STAKE IN LUKOIL ON WESTERN MARKET AT LEAST FOR $660 MILLION

Economic Development and Trade Minister Herman Gref reports that the starting selling price of approximately 5. 9% of shares of LUKoil belonging to the state should be not less than $660 million. According to Gref, the government plans to place shares of LUKoil on Western markets in autumn 2002. The Property Relations Ministry planned to place derivative securities for the 5. 9% stake of LUKoil in 2001. Due to unfavorable market conditions sale of the shares was postponed from 2001 to 2002.
~ LUKOIL TO CUT EXPORTS OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS

In the near future LUKoil plans to cut exports of petroleum products significantly. Representatives of the company report that exports of A-76 gasoline will be reduced almost by 50, 000 tons in comparison to the exports in May. Thus, exports of the A-76 gasoline from the Perm refinery will be reduced by 19, 000 tons, from the Volgograd refinery by 15, 000 tons and from the Nizhny Novgorod Region by 15, 000 tons. Exports of diesel fuel will be reduced by 100, 000 tons in comparison to May.
~ GAZPROM TO ENTER WORLD MARKET OF LIQUEFIED GAS

In 2003, Gazprom may start selling liquefied natural gas on the world market. Deputy CEO of Gazprom Alexander Ryazanov announced this. He explains that Gazprom plans to start trading in small quantities of liquefied natural gas produced in Oman and other countries `to feel the market. `According to Ryazanov, Gazprom plans to send a delegation to Oman to get acquainted with work of gas liquefaction plants to begin sales of liquefied natural gas probably with participation of the British 100% subsidiary...
~ FIRST RUSSIAN OIL DELIVERED TO THE US

The first batch of oil from Russia was delivered to the US. The super tanker Astro Lupus with 2 million barrels of crude oil aboard was anchored in the port of Houston (Texas). The oil will be unloaded and delivered further by smaller tankers. These ships will unload the Russian oil until mid-July, delivering it to two terminals in the area of Baytown and Beaumont near Houston, from which the oil will be delivered for processing. Deputy US Secretary of Energy Michael Smith met the Russian tanker.

As at June 21, 2002 the amount of gold and foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank comprised $43.1 billion; thus, they increased by $600 million over a week. Overall, since May 24 to the latest reporting date the amount of gold and foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank rose by $2.5 billion. At the same time, the current rise of the gold and foreign exchange reserves of $600 million was 300% more than over the period from June 7 to June 14 and proved to be the highest since May 24
