I was struck by your comparison of the US to Moscow in the 80's. If I really believed in this comparison I too would head for the mountains with my cache of gold and luger in hand. By the way, I just came back from 3 yeard in Switzerland, and even if the world doesn't come to an end, the Swiss will bore us all to death. I have just glanced at your latest e-mail. I always check the ox which is being gored/the news media here is so anti-Bush that it doubles the old proverb of believing nothing of what you hear and half of what you see. Again I don't want to sound like the proverbial ugly American BUT we have survived a murderous civil war, any number of economic booms and busts,McCartyism, a world war on two fronts, the resignation of one and impeachmenbt of another president, 9/11,Paris Hilton, reality television, Jimmy Carter, and have done reasonably well. As an investor I would make the bet that the flow continues although there will be necessarily bumps along the way.What do you figure the opportunity cost of holding gold bullion is?
